道德经双译第40章

本章老子通过论述“道”的运动规律、“道”的发挥作用的方式，以及“道”为天地万物的最初本原，旨在教人返本复初、守柔处弱，以与“道”合一。

反者道之动；循环往复，是“道”的运动规律；弱者道之用。柔弱，是“道”的作用方式。
天下万物生於有，有生於无。天下万物都是从“有”（即有形的本源或母体）中所产生出来的，这个“有”又是从 “无”（即无形的最初本原“道”）中所化生出来的。

Chapter 40
Introduction
In this chapter, Lao Tzu discusses the way the Dao moves, and the way it functions. He reveals that the Dao is the primal origin of the universe. He aims to teach people to embrace the soft and weak, and return to one’s own original nature, to the extent of being one with the Dao.

Moving in circles is the way the Dao moves.
Being weak is the way the Dao functions.
All things under Heaven are produced from Being.
And Being is produced from Nothingness.
